Collection of slides forming lecture "Rails in the Slate Industry" by D.R. Geering, UMIST 3rd year Mechanical Engineering Projects, c.1975 (copy of lecture notes in related material).
Four cast iron switchplates and two crossings arranged to form a double slip. Notice the similarity of the switchblade to that from the Peak Forest Tramway, in slide 7.
