Hollow cast iron charcoal box iron. Body with ventilation funnel and turned wooden handle, with protective metal shield attached to lid. Heated by burning charcoal within body. Lid hinged at heel and manipulated by a lever mechanism. Ventilation aperture in heel covered with a pivotted metal flap.VICTORIA REGISTERED with Royal Coat of Arms in circular motif on guard
