Roman iron penannular brooch
Penannular brooch of circular cross section with expanded terminals. This type of penannular brooch would fit into Fowlers (1960) group Aa thought to be of Iron Age origin. However, possible penannular brooches from Coygan Camp (Wainwright, 1967, fig. 7.3) and Segontium (Wheeler, 1923, fig. 53.5) may indicate this from persisting well into the ROman period.
