Medieval pottery jug
Two joining jug body sherds in a fine sandy fabric. From the top mid-section of a large bulbous jug. There is a faint single horizontal combed band which may have spanned the widest part of the complete vessel. Very similar to 77.50H/17

Site Name: Tredegar Park, Newport: Gwent
Date: 1977
Notes: Found on a housing site. Reportedly recovered in late 1977 during building operations near St. Joseph's School, Tredegar Park. The discovery of the pottery was only reported after work on the site was completed and there appears to be no additional information available concerning the find-spot itself.
