Roman copper alloy ear scoop
Implement from a chatelaine, probably a small spoon or scoop, now almost completely lost. The upper section which is laterally pierced for suspension is inlaid with a rectangular panel of enamel, divided irregularly into two fields. The surviving enamel is now discoloured and appears as yellow and green. There is a slight moulding with collar beneath the head, linking it with a plain narrow shaft bent out of true. Information from site report by G. Lloyd Morgan and J. Webster.
