Jug, pearlware, inset base with incised ring in centre, globular body, vertical neck, upright plain spout, bracket-shaped handle; transfer-printed in black and overpainted in orange, puce, yellow, blue, green and brown with the 'Boy at the window' pattern, a chinoiserie-style scene of figures, buildings, trees and exotic birds, a border of scrolls, leaves and floral garlands to the neck, a border of alternating leaves and oval shapes to the interior lip-rim, stylised foliage to the handle, brown bands to the shoulder and lip-rim.
