Mug, soft-paste porcelain, inset base, cylindrical body flaring very slightly at the lip-rim, grooved loop handle; transfer-printed in black with to one side of the body a scene showing two elegantly dressed female figures, assisted by a male figure, fishing in an expanse of water, with beyond it a small building on an island with trees and bushes, to the other side of the body a scene showing a poorly dressed female figure reading the palm of an elegantly dressed female figure with other female figures and a male figure looking on, a spreading tree overhangs the scene.
