Jug
Jug, pale cream-coloured earthenware with a soft greenish tinge to the glaze, bulbous body flaring out to the foot-rim and lip-rim, plain beak spout, plain loop handle; transfer-printed in black with to the front of the exterior body the inscription "ELIZTH EVANS / CARMARTHEN" enclosed within an oval cartouche, to one side of the exterior body a scene showing the figure of a cooper making a barrel, to the other side a design of a coat of arms supported by two horses and with the inscription "THE COOPERS ARMS / PROSPERITY ATTEND THE INTEGRITY OF OUR CAUSE" printed on scrolling banners above and below it. Chips to the foot-rim and spout.
