Equestrian: the prince in armour galloping on horse to the right, wearing hauberk, surcoat, round helmet; a broad sword held in his right hand, scabbard at his waist; shield slung by a strap over his right shoulder.
Copy of Great Seal of Llywelyn the Great. The image of a sword-wielding warrior on horseback conveyed Llywelyn’s leadership and authority. In use in 1222.
