Roman samian bowl, decorated
Body sherd of a decorated bowl. Form 37, Central Gaulish, with a single bordered ovolo (Rogers B12) and chevron medallion (Rogers E21), contianing a sphinx to left (D.497). The ovolo was occasionally used by Cinnamus II, and appears on a stamped bowl from Corbridge. It is also on a bowl in his style from Alcester, together with the medallions. c.A.D.150-180.
