Iron Age pottery jar
Rim sherd 7-8.5mm thick of quite hard fabric containing common small calcite inclusions. The external surace is abaraded but traces of a black bunished surface survive, internal surface is buff to dark grye and has a slightly vesicular appearance. Rounded everted rim. Similar to limestone/calcite tempered jars from Llanmelin and Sudbrook (Nash-Williams 1933, 1939).
