Sucrier with cover
Sucrier, pale cream-coloured earthenware with a soft greenish-yellow tinge to the glaze, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, rounded curving sides, to either side of the body of the sucrier twin horizontal reeded double intertwined handles with moulded flower heads and leaves at the terminals, round domed cover with a flat collar-like rim, to the top of the cover a finial modelled in the form of a flower head with a stem, flower buds and leaves; bat-printed in black with to one side of the exterior body of the sucrier a garden scene with a female figure and two children, to the other side a landscape with three perching birds, around the top of the cover three vignettes of birds. The handles broken and repaired, the foot-rim and lip-rim of the sucrier and the underside of the cover chipped.
