Heavy wheel thrown plate/plaque, red earthenware, foot ring, slightly concave narrow rim, broad flat well. Plate coated in a speckled oatmeal slip; plate well is freely painted in black brown and red oxides with a curved, leaping fish, bands of brown oxide around cavetto, rim pattern of regularly spaced brown scales alternating with brown strokes. Egg shell glaze.
