Figure of the Empress of France on horseback facing left, white earthenware with a slightly blue tinted crackle glaze, on an elliptical base inscribed in raised gilt capitals. Figure in long underglaze blue riding habit with gilt patterning, yellow gloves, flesh coloured face, black ringlets and a tall white hat with pink plumes and along green veil behind her shoulders. Seated side saddle, resting right hand in lap and left hand on horse's neck, wide yellow saddle patterned with red sprigs, and a white scallop edged border, orange horse with black hooves and mouth and a red mane and tail; horse with open mouth and head erect, stepping and slightly rearing back on a green and brown rocky ground.
