Detailed notes in English, replying to the National Museum's Questionnaire of 1937 on Welsh folk culture, submitted by Arthur C. Hazzard. Hazzard was the Honorary Secretary of the Archaeological Society at Tonypandy Secondary School. The notes foccussed on the Urban District of Rhondda, specifically on parishes of Ystradyfodwg and Llanwonno.
Questionnaire on Welsh Folk Culture, 1937 Prepared by the Department of Folk Culture, National Museum of Wales, and published in 1937. The questionnaires were sent to parishes, schools and individuals as a way of collecting information about all aspects of Welsh folk culture. The questionnaire was divided into the following subject areas: domestic life, corporate life, cultural life, crafts and industries. The museum was keen to engage with the people of Wales and the questionnaire respondents to collect objects and stories as a basis for establishing the Welsh Folk Museum in 1948.
