Sauce-boat
Sauce-boat, soft-paste porcelain, standing on an oval rounded slightly spreading foot-rim with moulded gadrooned edge, the body of the sauce-boat modelled in the form of a cos lettuce, the bulbous sides moulded with overlappring leaves running from the handle to the spout, the spout slightly elongated and curving over to one side, the handle modelled in the form of the stalk of the lettuce, curving over on itself to form a high loop, moulded leaves and moulded fruit issue onto the body from the lower terminal of the handle; painted in polychrome enamels with to the exterior sides of the body scattered sprigs and sprays of flowers, a spray of flowers and foliage to the interior bottom of the sauce-boat, a pink vein runs down the centre of one leave to either side of the body, a chocolate edge to the lip-rim and spout, the handle painted in browns, pinks and yellows, the moulded leaves and fruit around the base of the spout painted in green, pink, brown, red and yellow. The base of the sauce-boat cracked and repaired.
