Figure of John Bryan, creamy coloured earthenware with a blue tinted crackle glaze, standing on an irregular oval plinth with a gilt line round, the sloping upper part inscribed in raised gilt capitals. Figure dressed largely in underglaze black of black shoes, stockings, knee breeches, waistcoat, frock coat, white shirt and tie, grey hair and side burns. Standing resting left hand on a red book with gilt outlined pages placed on a grey brick pillar, right hand resting on waist, white ground.
