9 carat gold jewel in form of Paty cross (arms widening from centre) with central boss consisting of buffalo's head encircled by blue enamelled belt, with RAOB motto; reverse inscribed to Benjamin Cole of Treharne Lodge on his attaining the Knighthood of the order of Merit; suspended from red ribbed silk ribbon; with decorative bar at top and bottom and with gold KOM motif attached; with vertical steel pin; contained in dark red leathercloth covered box, lined with velvet and satin, with manufacturer's stamp.
