Nicaragua Health Fund leaflet/poster, 1990s.

The Nicaragua Health Fund (NHF) was established in 1985 by Oxfam, Christian Aid, War on Want, CIIR and Cafod to raise awareness, funds and practical support for the health service in Nicaragua by working with health trade unionists and church groups in the UK. Mike Gatehouse, who had been national joint secretary of the Chile Solidarity Campaign, was employed to set up the NHF jointly with Sarah Jackson. NHF campaigns included supporting TB vaccination programmes, collecting health supplies and shipping them over in containers, and supporting a project for physical rehabilitation and prosthetics for combatants. In the 1990s, the NHF was incorporated into One World Action. The NHF posters were jointly designed by Ken Meharg and Annie Butcher.
