Iron Age ceramic crucible
Rim fragment of a crucible. Probably of the shallow triangular form similar to those from Glastonbury Lake Village (Bulleid and Grey 1917, 300-309), Gussage All Saints (Wainwright 1979, 130-132) and Collfryn (Britnell 1989, 126-7) dating to the 1st and 2nd centuries BC. The rim is rounded, distorted and heavily vitrified with traces of copper alloy low down on the internal surface.
