Rag doll made by a 4 year old miner's child
Cloth doll. Stuffed rag doll of dingy (white) cotton with rudimentary stitched features in black wool, right eye almost invisible. The body and legs are coarsely stitched and stuffed, with two (black) squares sewn on for feet or shoes, the arms are rolled cotton, roughly stitched. Wearing a 'dress' of the same material, slit up the left side with broad (dark blue) silk ribbon sash knotted at the back with long trailing ends and a head scarf of dark blue cotton with white spots with a small feather stitched to back.
