Sucrier with cover
Sucrier, hybrid-paste porcelain, boat-shaped body with straight-sided foot-rim and bulbous sides sloping slightly inwards at the shoulder, to either end of the body twin square-shouldered high loop handles, oval domed cover rising to a high peak with a nipple-topped finial; decorated with arounf the upper sides of the exterior body a wide border in gilt of oakleaves and acorns between two gilt bands, against this border is reserved to either side of the body a small circular panel painted with to the centre a small three towered castle with a twisted red and white ribbon below it, in a curve above the castle is the inscription "PATIENCE AND RESOLUTION" in black on a pink banner, and below the castle is the inscription "J R M" in elaborate gilt letters, the same border of oakleaves and acorns but without the reserved panels is repeated around the sides of the cover, a gilt band around the foot-rim, the handles decorated with gilt foliate motifs, the top of the finial painted in gilt.
