Knee length coat, thick twill weave blue wool. Double breasted to waist with 7 pairs of brass buttons embossed with 'Cardiff City Council' and a coat of arms. Collar with red piping around the edge. On left lapel a badge with 141 in metal thread on a blue patch. On the right lapel a coat of arms metal pin badge (gilded brass formed from a mould, 2 loops attached to the back to take a small sprung pin). False pocket flaps at the waist with red piped edges. Sleeves have red piping above the cuff and a leather binding to cuff ends. Fully lined in blue cotton sateen. Sleeves lined in cotton (white twill) with pale blue printed stripe. Paper label machine stitched to the back. Sateen patch hand stitched to coat front.
