Dish, pie with liner and cover
Wedgwood, Josiah, and Sons (Became Josiah Wedgwood & Sons Ltd in 1895)
Caneware game-pie dish, oval form with flat base and walls tapering gently to the rim, slightly domed cover and oval liner with out-turned lip, remains of string and strips of fabric at rim of liner to facilitate its removal from the dish; moulded around the body of the dish with braces of large and small game birds and fruiting vines, with sprigged decoration imitating a pie crust on top of the rim and diagonal notches running around the edge of the base, the cover is moulded with braces of birds and rabbits and the knop is in the form of a rabbit (or hare) sitting amid grass/hay.
