Teapot and cover
Teapot, solid dark blue jasper, oval shape with rounded foot-rim, straight sides, sharp shoulder and scalloped gallery, straight spout the end of which has been broken and repaired, high loop hande with a projecting spur over the upper terminal, round domed cover with to the centre a white jasper finial modelled in the form of a swan. a pierced steam hole to one side, an engine-turned basketwork pattern around the lower body of the teapot, decorated with applied ornament in white relief with around the centre of the exterior body of the teapot groups of classical figures, flowering plants and trees, an interlaced band around the shoulder with foliate sprays above the spout and handle, a band of anthemions around the gallery, a milled band around the middle of the spout with borders of leaves to either side of it, foliate sprays to the base of the spout, flower heads and sprays of leaves along the length of the handle with further leaves issuing from the lower terminal, around the sides of the cover a border of overlapping leaves. The gallery of the teapot broken and repaired.
