Picture, silk
Silk needlework picture, circa 1710. Said to have been worked by a member of the Thomas family of Tre-groes. Formerly at Pwllywrach House, Colwinston.
Silk satin ground embroidered with silk and metalic threads. Depicting male and female figures in 18th century costume and a cupid figure by a river. Surrounding the figures are trees and flowers, the female hold regins to which a pair of swans is attached and there is a small dog by her side. The faces of the figures are painted in, but all other details are embroidered. Stitches used are as follows: stem, satin, florentine and french knots.
