Pollard, William (1803 - 1854)
Dessert dish or fruit stand, bone china, standing on an oval pedestal foot with lobed foot-rim and fluted sides, the dish roughly diamond-shaped with curving flaring sides bulging upwards at the points of the diamond and with fluting in between, to either end of the dish twin horizontal loop handles with moulded foliage issuing onto the dish from each terminal; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the interior of the dish, the exterior sides and the foot scattered sprigs and sprays of naturalistically painted wild flowers including dog roses, convulvulus, strawberries and heather, gilt bands to the foot-rim and lip-rim, the handles picked out in gilt.
