Cup, hard-paste porcelain, inset base within a flattened-off foot-rim, cylindrical sides, plain loop handle; to the front of the exterior body an oval panel finely painted in grey monochrome against an olive-green ground with a head and shoulders portrait of a male figure in profile, looking to the right, the panel enclosed by a heavy gilt band, heavy gilt bands around the foot-rim and interior and exterior lip-rim, the handle painted in gilt.
