Jar, of pale buff stoneware, standing on a narrow flanged foot with gadrooned foot rim, cylindrical body with band of beading above foot rim and below lip rim, short, flanged neck with everted lip rim with gadroonong to exterior sides; applied around the centre of the body with moulded sprigs; a church, of italianate style with a turretted tower and gabled nave with a doorway in the tower and at the west end, surrounded by trees, two willow trees behind a fence, a 'Toby' figure, expansively fat with an unbuttoned coat, smiling broadly beneath a hat, seated at a table with a mug overflowing with froth and a windmill with visible doors and windows adjoined by a house with large chimneys; the neck and upper body with a rich iron-brown wash, the whole body with a clear salt-glaze giving a freckled appearance to the areas of colouration.
