Early Medieval silver arm ring
Silver arm ring of broad-band type with stamped decoration. Main field decorated with two rows of repeating arrowhead stamp, with straight indented base no pellets. The tapering ends to the fields have one example of the stamp used on arm ring 28.215/4 (same die). Each taper is finished off with transverse indented lines to the ends. This example is remarkable for its fine condition and complete states, as arm rings were often cut up as hack silver to form part of an active bullion economy.
