Lower Palaeolithic Neanderthal molar
Tooth fragment with extreme wear to the biting surface this is through the enamel and into the dentine layer. The tooth crown is complete and most of the tooth root is present, although part is missing. The tooth root is coalesced.
Neanderthal tooth found in Pontnewydd Cave, north-east Wales.
