Iron Age iron tongs
Curved handle of rectangular cross section from a pair of small tongs. The handle expands and flattens towards the perforation for the pivoting rivet. The terminal of the handle tapers slightly and curves outwards. Iron Age tongs of a similar size were recovered from Llyn Cerrig Bach, Anglesey (Fox, 1946 p96, no.132).
