Roman samian bowl
The upper zone contains a dog running to the right and a large grass-tuft made up of three triple-leaved motifs. The lower zone was probably a leaf-scroll.
The dog is close to O.1920, used by Crestio, Frontinus and others, while the motif which makes up the grass-tuft is found on the work of several Neronian and Flavian potters. The general scheme of decoration was common in the Flavian period on bowls of both Drag. 29 and Drag 37.
