Dish of tin-glazed earthenware, standing on a narrow spreading foot, spreading, cushion moulded sides, forming broad rim, the whole being fluted and the rim consisting of equal sized lobes formed from the fluting of the body; the central well domed; the whole covered in a bluey-white tin glaze, decorated in under-glaze blue, in the centre a chinoiserie style scene of a seated figure amongst stylised rocks and foliage, around the rim with two further seated figures interspersed with flowers and foliage; double blue bands around the central scene and to inner rim, broader band to waved outer rim; the glaze extensively chipped beneath outer rim, the whole extensively restored with stapling to underside of body.
