Sugar box, hard-paste porcelain, octagonal, standing on a shallow foot rim, squat, elongated, octagonal body with bulging sides, stepped, domed cover with pagoda-shaped finial; sides decorated in gilt with four chinoiserie scenes alternating with four gilt pattern panels, one scene comprising two chinoiserie figures either side of a tree, one of three figures, one holding a rake, standing on platforms with gilt scrolling, gilt border to rim and shoulders, cover decorated with two chinoiserie scenes, both of two figures eitherside a tree, gilt border to lip, on layers and to finial.
