Tray
Eight-sided tray, with cut-out hand holes. Raised sides. Black japan ground, with gold, silver and polychrome borders of paterae, swags and bunches of grapes. The centre painted with an unidentified theatrical scene, probably from Shakespear, depicting a seated man dressed in ermine robes, with two men standing behind him; a central figure, possibly a woman in mens' garb pulling a cloak from her face, and a bearded man cowering to the right.
