Gorse cutter
A gorse cutter comprising two blades in the shape of an X. Four curved arms connect the blades to the socket for the long wooden shaft. The arms are joined to the blades and the socket with forge welded rivets. The wooden shaft is missing. GB 30/09/13
Gorse was used as fodder to supplement hay and straw. Farmers had to utilise whatever was locally available.
