Milk jug and cover
Milk jug, black basalt, inset base, half-barrel form body with concave neck, the spout broken off and missing, high loop handle decorated with an applied band of foliage on a granulated ground, round domed cover with to the centre a finial modelled in the 'Widow of Zarapheth' form (a seated female figure in flowing drapes and in a mourning attitude), the exterior body of the jug decorated with a broad band of engine-turned squares forming diamond shapes with a milled band above and a granulated border below, a similar band of engine-turned squares around the sides of the cover. The rim of the cover chipped.
