Early Medieval copper alloy strip
Ornamental bronze strip , decorated with a row of repousse bosses along each edge; wear and corrosion have removed the tops of the bosses. It is quite from the disposition of the bosses that neither end of this strip is original. Such repousse ornamentated strips are common on Anglo Saxon buckets and their continental analogues, but the present strip, found doubled up in an ash layer derived from bronze working, is clearly no evidence for the presence of such buckets at Dinas Powys.
