Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Plate, soft-paste porcelain with a creamy, slightly buff translucency; standing on a foot rim curving into flared spreading sides, and lobed lip with six large and six small lobes; grooved cavetto, edge moulded with c-scrolls and ribbon-tied flowers and foliage; painted in polychrome enamels with a spray of flowers in the centre, including a yellow and purple tulip; around the edge two small sprays of flowers, two groups of fruit, including an apple, lemon and cherries, a polychrome bird perched on a branch, and a purple and yellow tulip and blue daisy growing from the ground; gilt scalloped edge to lip.
