Jug
The remains of a small jug or mug, the neck and handle missing, grey stoneware; standing on a narrow foot rim; globular body, terminating with a raised cordon marking the point of junction between the body and the now missing neck; the remains of the lower terminal of the missing handle attached to the body at the shoulder; the interior and exterior covered with an iron-brown wash and a clear salt-glaze giving a freckled appearance; the body with applied ornament of a running frieze of a rose-plant, the blooms of Tudor-rose style, the leaves neatly incised to produce veined effect, the leaves and blooms connected by raised scrolling and twisting stems.
