Roman pottery Castor box
Conjoining fragments of a Lower Nene valley 'Castor box' lid. A castor box was a shallow vessel with a fitted lid, usually both rouletted. These fragments have a white core with an oxidised margin and brown-black colour coat (Lower Nene Valley colour-coated ware).
