Sucrier with cover
Sucrier, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a rounded spreading foot, ovoid body with sharp shoulder and concave lip-rim, to either side of the body twin lion mask ornamental handles, round domed cover now broken into two parts, to the top of the cover a bud-shaped finial; finely painted in polychrome enamels and gilt with around the centre of the exterior body of the sucrier and the sides of the cover wide borders of torches and musical instruments in red-edged panels between two heavy gilt bands, a wide border of gilt ovals around the lower body of the sucrier, gilt bands around the foot, handles and exterior lip-rim of the sucrier and around the top of the cover, the finial painted in gilt. The foot-rim of the sucrier chipped.
