Franco-British Exhibition, 1908, season ticket
A special guinea season ticket for entrance to the Franco-British exhibition, Shepherd's Bush, London, 1908.
The exhibition celebrated the signing of the Entente Cordiale between Britain and France. This colonial agreement improved the relationship between the two countries whilst sustaining their respective empires. The exhibition displayed Ceylonese (Sri Lankan), Irish and Senegalese people in 'villages' as live exhibits.
The ticket is a red card, folded in two, with gold lettering and illustrations on the front and reverse. Inside are the ticket holders details, printed in black ink on cream paper with handwritten details in black ink. Ticket no. 11195, belonging to Mr H. M. Ingledew, Cathedral Road, Cardiff.
