Spirit lamp
White, John (Free, 3 December 1719. Entered mark, 10 December 1719. Bankrupt, 24 April 1740)
Spirit lamp with bowl-shaped reservoir, rising to a lip at the shoulder for the flat disc-shaped cover, engraved with a very worn lozenge-shaped coat of arms in a baroque cartouche, and fitted with a sleeve for the wick; the frame standing on three baluster S-scroll legs terminating in shallow domed feet, formerly containing wooden buns, moulded kettle ring with retaining pin on chain, the lamp in a subsidiary ring bracketed from the lower part of the legs. One leg engraved with the arms, three eagles displayed, in a lozenge, for Williams-Wynn.
