Wedding dress
Wedding dress worn by June Tibbles on her wedding to Terry Lewis on 13 June 1970 at St Dunstan's Parish Church, Ferndale. The reception was held at the Labour Club in Ferndale. The dress was purchased from Marments Ltd, Queen Street, Cardiff on 13 March 1970 at a cost of £30.
Cream full length dress, with long wide sleeves. Fastened at back with a zip down to the waist and a hook and eye fastner at back of neck. Train attached at back from waist down (length of train approx 188cm). Loop at hem to enable the wearer to hoist the train from the ground. Bottom of train and sleeves decorated with alternate bands of machine lace and synthetic ribbon. Neck and waist trimmed with machine lace.
