ECM: Eglwys Nynnid; inscribed stone (replica)

A roughly rectangular slab; thinning slightly towards top and bottom. One face and the two sides are decorated; the top edge and right side of the head are damaged by fracture. A. The face (framed by rounded angle mouldings) is divided into two equal square panels: 1. The upper contains a cross form; the arms consisting of detached sunken panels and the centre marked by a raised boss and ring, each of the inter-arm spaces contains an incised ring, the upper right-hand one and most of the right arm being removed by the fracture. 2. The lower panel is surrounded by a double incised border and contains a damaged (or deliberately removed) inscription. B. Vertical panel outlined by single groove containing an incised wavy line between ring-and-boss devices at top and bottom. C. (Back) Undecorated. D. Damaged by fracture. The central panel is outlined by a single groove, with incised decoration of debased scrolls and spirals.
