Argentine immigration regulations identification certificate British Mercantile Marine, 1937-1940. Numerous pages (only 2 entries) in brown covers (thin card), details of seaman on front and inside front cover with photograph. Two entries are for S.S.AVONCLIFFE and the S.S.FAIRWATER of the Fairwater Shipping Co.Ltd. Fingerprints at rear.
S.S. FAIRWATER. Built 1942 as EMPIRE AUSTEN by Lithgows Ltd., Port Glasgow, managed for MoWT by Honeyman & Co. 1946 – Management transferred to Counties Ship Management Ltd., London. 1949 – Sold to Frinton Shipping Ltd., and renamed FRINTON, managed by Counties Ship Management. 1951 – Sold to Crest Shipping Co., Nassau, and renamed FREECREST, managed by Ivanovich & Co Ltd., London. 1955 – Sold to International Nav. Corp., Liberia, and renamed FAIRWATER, managed by Tidewater Commercial Co. Inc., Baltimore. 1961 – Sold to Surrendra (Overseas) Private Ltd., Calcutta, and renamed APJ USHA. She was broken up at Bombay in 1962.
