Cup, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain; standing on a rounded foot rim, London shape, with curvaceous ogee handle; painted with set pattern 486; two octagonal reserves, one of an exotic polychrome bird in a tree, the other of a bouquet of flowers, both on a rich underglaze blue ground with large gilt foliate scrolls issuing smaller foliate tendrils; a gilt arcaded border below with anthemion pendants; gilt band to foot rim and lip, and gilding on the handle; underglaze blue and gilt patterned medallion inside cup.
