FRAMPTON, George (1860-1928)
Frampton's highly personal style was conditioned by Sir Alfred Gilbert and Edward Burne-Jones, as well as by Italian Renaissance and French Symbolist sculpture. His most famous work is the statue of Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens. This smooth stylised bust is a later contribution to the theme of the ideal female head, which had preoccupied Frampton since 1890.
